Alan Ross (1947-) is an important American black-and-white landscape photographer of the late 20th century and a key inheritor of the American Western landscape photography tradition. He served as an assistant to the legendary photographer Ansel Adams for nearly ten years, studying the Zone System, black-and-white tonal control, and advanced gelatin silver printing techniques.
