Mike Disfarmer (1884-1959) was a distinctive American photographer known for his vernacular portrait photography in the 20th century. Although he received limited recognition during his lifetime, his work was rediscovered and reassessed by the art world in the late 20th century and is now regarded as an important contribution to the study of American photography and vernacular portraiture.
